A New Take on Women and Aging


Twenty-five years ago and afterwards in her 40s, clinical clergyman Mary Pipher wrote “Reviving Ophelia,” a seminal book about youth girls. Now Dr. Pipher is exploring women removing comparison and finds this theatre too, like teenage years, is a time of traffic with changing bodies, expectations and stereotypes.

From her home in Lincoln, Neb., that sits during a corner of a city park and looks out onto a lake mostly filled with hundreds of geese, Dr. Pipher, 71, discussed her new book “Women Rowing North,” that will be published Tuesday….
