WASHINGTON—U.S. business groups, prolonged undone by their miss of poke in President Trump’s trade quarrel with China, are starting to benefit some change as vigour increases on a White House to solve a monthslong dispute.

In new weeks, U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and his group have been holding meetings with heading trade groups, soliciting ideas on specific terms that would solve a conflict, that has harm companies on both sides of a Pacific.
