The 1948 Plymouth That Defeated a North Dakota Winter

Mary Motschenbacher, 68, a medical transcriptionist from Fargo, N.D., and her sister, Beth Boatz, a 67-year-old late landowner from Blaine, Minn., on their 1948 Plymouth, as told to A.J. Baime.

Ms. Motschenbacher: In 1947, a uncle, Laurence Boatz, bought this Plymouth new from a Corwin Chrysler dealership in Fargo, that still exists. In a mid-1960s, a father took ownership. We had a good family, though we did not have a lot of element things, so this was a large deal.
